Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay) Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.

Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays) Three samples of known concentration were tested six times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.

Spike Recovery

The spike recovery was evaluated by spiking 3 levels of human FOLR1 into health human serum sample. The un-spiked serum was used as blank in this experiment.
The recovery ranged from 76% to 120% with an overall mean recovery of 101%.

Serum/Plasma – Thirty samples from apparently healthy volunteers were evaluated for the presence of FOLR1 in this assay. No medical histories were available for the donors.

Background: FOLR1

Folate receptor α (FRα), also known as folate receptor 1 (FOLR1), belongs to the folate receptor family and are both cysteine-rich glycolipid anchor proteins. FRα is encoded by FOLR1 and is a cell surface glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 38-40KD. It was initially discovered as a folic acid-binding protein. It was later found that in addition to transporting folic acid, it is also involved in regulating the proliferation and metastasis of tumor cells. Folic acid is an important nutrient necessary for maintaining cell growth and metabolism, and it plays a key role in the synthesis of DNA and RNA.
