Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay) Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.

Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays) Three samples of known concentration were tested six times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.

Spike Recovery

The spike recovery was evaluated by spiking 3 levels of human Angiogenin into health human serum sample. The un-spiked serum was used as blank in this experiment.
The recovery ranged from 80% to 119% with an overall mean recovery of 96%.

Serum/Plasma – Thirty samples from apparently healthy volunteers were evaluated for the presence of Angiogenin in this assay. No medical histories were available for the donors.

Background: Angiogenin

Angiogenin (ANG) is a secreted protein that belongs to the pancreatic ribonuclease family. It was initially purified based on its ability to initiate vascularization in the chicken embryo chorioallantoic membrane from serum-free media conditioned by growth of a human adenocarcinoma cell line HT-29. A number of other tumors, as well as normal cell lines, also secrete Angiogenin. Angiogenin is present in normal human plasma.
